After an absolutely perfect first event in Katy, Texas, the top wakeboarders in the world are set to perform at the second stop of the 2021 Pro Wake Tour powered by Supra Boats with early season overall championship implications in the mix.

The performances at the first stop of the 2021 Pro Wake Tour in Katy were incredible and have set the scene for a season of big battles for the top spot on the podium. Those battles are staged up between a crew of young up and comers in Sam Brown and Fynn Bullock and the veterans of Rapa, Teunissen, Oka and Piffaretti.

The big question that will be answered in Birmingham, will Sam Brown surprise himself and the judges again to put himself back on the top of the podium? Brown admitted at the close of the event in Katy, TX that he had never ridden that well or completed that specific run. With experienced competitors like Nic Rapa and Cory Teunissen right behind him on the Katy podium, it is safe to say that they will be sure to at least put together their best run or even step up and layer in a new move or two.

Regarding the increased level of riding on the PWT this year, Pro Wake Tour Marketing Director, Devin Tatro said, “A new bar was set in Texas, everyone is looking forward to seeing the action unfold at this second stop in Alabama.”

Similarly 3x wakesurfing PWT Season Champion Sean Silveira put down his best run ever in Katy. Is this the new Silveira or was that Silveira’s swan song? We know that Camron and Taylor Swanson have the moves, but they failed to execute in Texas, both ripping but succumbing to falls in their runs.

The Jr Pro division is a bit less clear as the PWT has a full field of 10 Jr. Pro’s signed up for this event. We will see if Jamie Huser can repeat or if one of the many up and coming young riders like Parker Swope or Cody Hunnicutt can claim that top spot.

Don’t miss this pivotal event weekend on Double Oak Lake in Oak Mountain State Park, just south of Birmingham in Pelham, AL. For more information on the event follow this LINK
