Orlando, FL (May 14th 2021) – The Pro Wake Tour Powered by Supra Boats will launch the 2021 digital qualifier on Monday, May 17th. Tune into www.prowakeboardtour.com to see the level of riding from many of the top riders in the sport. With 3 live onsite events this year and great prize money the riders are ready to compete as proven by the names entering the contest.
Big names like Harley Clifford, Massi Piffaretti and Mike Dowdy have entered lines to qualify for the first PWT event in Katy, Texas on June 12th. As Clifford was stuck in Australia with lockdown mandates and a newborn, he was unable to compete in the events last year and both Dowdy and Piffaretti were sidelined with injuries. All three riders have been training hard and have put together some incredible lines in the effort to qualify for the 2021 PWT. It will be an exciting moment for the world to see the level of riding from these iconic athletes. Will they make the cut? Judging from what we have seen … definitely!
The 8 riders who are pre qualified onto the 2021 PWT based on 2020 standings are –
Nic Rapa, Cory Teunissen, Tyler Higham, Shota Tezuka, Guenther Oka, Fynn Bullock, Jake Hill and Jake Pelot. There will be a total of 8 more who qualify for the first event based on this online qualifier.
For Pro Wakesurfing there are 3 spots open for qualifiers into the first event. Currently, Sean Silveira, Camron Swanson and Taylor Swanson have pre-qualified into the wakesurfing series based on their final standings in 2020. For Jr. Pro this qualifying round will establish seeding for the first event, all riders entered will be invited to the Katy event.
Scoring for the digital events will be 75% based on the pro judges scores and 25% based on the online voting from the global enthusiasts. So get to www.prowakeboardtour.com and vote for the best rider in each heat and help your favorite rider make it onto the 2021 Pro Wake Tour.
